Deadline for voting ends tomorrow!
Winners, Honorary award to be announced Friday.
http://www.customoftheyear.com (April 11, 2006). The 2nd annual Custom of the Year awards is closing its polls on Wednesday, April 12th at 7pm EST. Currently there are nearly 4.000 votes that have been cast so far through online polling but the organizers are looking for more.
“The quality of this year’s nominees are fantastic and simply works of art,“ said Custom of the Year founder Tommy Sanchez, “I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on this event and I hope that each category can receive at least 300 votes.”
Participants must register on www.thefwoosh.com, where the polls are being hosted, before they can vote, which takes less than 5 minutes. The polls can be found on the forums for the site.
The nominating judges for this year include Eric “Cornboy” Mayse of Four Horsemen Studios, Jerry Macaluso, President of SOTA Toys Inc., Kat Sapene, head painter at SOTA Toys Inc., Daniel "Julius Marx" Pickett of Action Figure Insider, and Michael Crawford of Michael’s Review of the Week.
Entries were taken in over twenty categories, including Best Marvel, Best Sculpture, Best Packaging and Custom of the Year. In addition an Honorary Award will be given out which recognizes lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the art of customizing or outstanding service to the toy industry.
All winners will be announced on Friday, April 14 on this site and others.
