Death’s Head II is the only figure in the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 Marvel Legends series that doesn’t include a Build-a-Figure piece, but you are not going to want to pass him up!
Yeah, if I was being honest, I would have preferred to get the original Death’s Head figure in the series, but I have to say, this figure is very impressive. He is a giant for a regular carded figure, but he has a couple of sculpted pieces that really make the figure.
DHII’s head sculpt is really amazing in terms of detail, and it has the paint to back it up, so it came out beautifully. Beautifully grotesque. Additionally, his right arm/gun/thingee has a ton of sculpted detail to it, and the airbrushing and subtle shading helps to really the form, I really dig it.
Hasbro decided that the right arm should not have all of the spotlight in terms of appendages, so they included both a fist and a pointed finger swappable hands for the left arm, too. Despite the impressive form, he balances really well and can make just about anyone else in your ML collection run away scared.
Like I said, you don’t need Death’s Head II to complete the Mantis figure, but you will want to add him to your collection because he makes for a very impressive piece, and he helps build out the Marvel Legends universe. Don’t be shy, head over to Dorkside Toys and grab him up before he is gone, you won’t regret it.
