Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 wave (2023)

Well it’s that time of year again. New solicitations are coming out for 2023. So far I’ve received solicitations for 2 movie waves. Antman and Guardians 3. Credit to my pal volt for sending them my way. This isn’t the complete wave and everything is code named. This is what I have.

Here is the only GOTG Volume 3 listing I have received so far.

Obviously hoping for a full team in the new comic-inspired costumes. I'd assume this would cover Star-Lord, Nebula, Mantis and Rocket. An improved Drax is also a must in whatever he wears in the new movie. Depending on how many characters are Guardians, may have to get selective on who ends up in the wave. I wouldn't be shocked if Kraglin finally gets a figure in a box set.

What I know about the film, figure possibilities include the the original five Guardians (counting new Groot), the three added Guardians (Nebula, Mantis, and Kraglin), then two new characters are known with another rumored:

High Evolutionary, Adam, and Lylla.

So eleven, that we know of, so far. Which is entirely possible if they go the Eternals route. We already know there is one Deluxe, so if the wave is fully MCU and they do two store exclusives, that's the cast. Then any unknown spoiler characters will likely be handled like No Way Home.

If the movie makes a billion I'd feel pretty good about getting the whole main cast at some point. It will be interesting how much hype for Guardians 3 the new Thor builds.

Mega-Groot. Vin Diesel made some comment about Groot going for it with his powers etc. $50 sounds like a Surtur sized thing though, so who knows.

For GotG3 I'ld like to see:

1) classic Adam Warlock
2) A comic Drax the Desstroyer
3) comic Mantis
4) comic Starfox

I won't say no to a 2 pack with comic Pip with either Starfox or Adam Warlock.
This is the perfect opportunity for Hasbro to give us these comic versions. The rest of course can be MCU.

As with the Eternals wave - this movie will have enough characters to justify it being fully MCU (to the annoyance of many, I know). I'd bank on a full movie wave over a mix.

Even putting aside my own interests and focus, I'll be shocked if the wave isn't entirely MCU. I do say that as an MCU-only collector, but also as someone who reeeeeally doesn't want more figures of any guardians I already own. Except endgame versions of Nebula and Rocket. And maybe a new Drax. And perhaps Gamora. Ah nevermind!

I think I have about 6 Star-Lords on the shelf between all of the different releases and box sets - with a 7th to come for Love and Thunder... and I still can't wait for the new comic suit version. Unreasonably excited.

I genuinely envy that. I'm excited to see it on the screen but can't be rebuying the whole team. I didn't start it with the Endgame bunch and won't now (even though this makes WAY more sense).

I see no way this isn't all MCU, but even if Comic ones are in it, does anyone really think Adam would not be based on the movie version given he is in the movie?
