Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series
Barbeque wouldn't be on my next 12 Joe members to appear in Classified. However, he's a specialist, which this line needs to start getting into. Flash or Sci-Fi, Dusty, Torpedo/Westuit, Shipwreck, Wild Bill, Alpine, Bazooka, Snow Job. I was to start seeing the Village People eclectic nature to the team start making it into the line.
After Major Bludd, I hope we start getting some Dreadnoks to accompany Zartan. Maybe pack a Dreadnok with a motorcycle. BATs, Snow Serpents. EELs. Alley Viper (I prefer mostly blue with orange as a secondary color, or based on the POC design). Those would be my top wants.

I'm already of the belief that classified joes are a myth. Went to toy world today. Their website says 6 in stock. Turn up at highpoint and they say: "gi whassis? We don't stock that American shite." And point me toward overpriced army men packs.Scotch n Ciggs wrote:I agree. They should just rerelease the Target wave of figures and baroness in quantities that actually show up in stores for people to buy and open and not sell on eBay for $100+.september_death wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 12:43 amUgh. Also different costumes for her (I'm guessing blue and/or red repaints). Potential themed waves/releases (desert, arctic, jungle, Tiger Force, Ninja Force). Dreadnoks. Slice and Dice.

I get it Hasbro. Repaints make tooling cost out long term. But can we at least get real variation in this lines that are in their infancy? First Destro nailed the look. PDD was a hilarious bonus. A third repeat Destro is such a waste. I’m not saying I wouldn’t buy another character that was recently released, but don’t make them so similar to what’s already on my shelf. This could have been a better spot for the wave 1 repaints. Throw Duke in with Baroness, do Scarlett with someone new like Bludd, etc.

I'm not seeing any peg or shelf space for GI Joe at my Walmart. The aisle is 90% empty, but all the tags look reset. GI Joe has been replaced by Lanard Predator. This is a smaller to mid size store and they did clearance the non existent Classified figures before Christmas.
Lol, I'm triggered even though I didn't buy any non exclusives figures from Wal-Mart or Target.

My Walmart posted the mod sheets for the reset today. NO G.I. JOES on the new planogram.

I don’t disagree with any of your ideas, but I think of Shipwreck as more of a central Joe than a specialist. Could be me though(?)Ash Talon wrote:Barbeque wouldn't be on my next 12 Joe members to appear in Classified. However, he's a specialist, which this line needs to start getting into. Yeah. I can see him not being considered a specialist. His original look certainly does make him pop and stand out more than his more recent tactical looks. So I suppose I'm referencing his original look making him more unique amongst the other soldier types.

Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series
Cartoon-wise, Shipwreck was definitely a lead: he was *the* lead in many of the best episodes.
I will say I ultimately prefer his “longshoreman” look with the beanie and sweater, though. But the sailor outfit is iconic.

Their removal is purely hasbros fault, the line got dedicated space in every wal mart(even a small one like mine that doesn't carry legends or other collector lines) and after the initial wave one shipment most stores never saw another figure. One store in my area got a case of wave 2 and that was it. This entire time the joes were a warehouse out which means walmart sold through their initial shipment for stores and couldn't get more from hasbro.
So as with anything that doesn't sell(because these didn't replenish they didn't get continuous sales) they are pulled from the mod and dropped.
Hasbro needs to get some shit together with production on this line because they are just shooting themselves in the foot.
Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series
Ya my store doesn't have joes on the mod anymore either and that could happen in alot of stores but no guarantee.

Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series
Any bad news involving Walmart comes as absolutely no surprise to me. You say every Walmart got dedicated space for GI Joe? You haven't been to my stores. I don's even consider stopping in Walmarts anymore on the off chance I get time for a dedicated, good ol fashioned toy hunt. I can't remember the last time I walked out of a store with a figure in hand, OR the last time I walked into a store to see a figure aisle stocked with figures. The pegs are empty 100% of the time, and any reset they happen to do only means that they move the empty pegs from one position to another. The employees in the store are untrained in answering any questions beyond telling you "You can buy it online", and your online orders may or may not get arbitrarily canceled, IF you were able to order online in the first place. To some people seeing no GI Joe on the new planogram means there is one less outlet for getting those figures, from my POV, it never WAS an outlet for getting those figures. Nothing good to say about Walmart.Magnuz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 6:09 amYa my store doesn't have joes on the mod anymore either and that could happen in alot of stores but no guarantee.

I think the initial Joe Shipwreck will definitely be in the longshoreman look. I could see him fitting a Cobra Island wave too FWIW. They classic open shirt is definitely going to wait for the retro updates. Either version 16 (I think this was the Dollar General exclusive) or version 19 (50th anniversary) seem like legitimate starting points. The long sleeve version is basically Beachhead head-to-toe, with a beanie, new head, and probably a new vest overlay.

Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series
Whenever I think about the Dollar General Shipwreck, it reminds me of how much a waste it is they didn't sculpt the whole shirt on the Beachhead Classified mold. Hopefully the finished sculpt exists and they'll have it for characters like this Shipwreck or SGT Stalker. Not using it is just so cheap, Beachhead could have easily looked great without a vest but they decided to skimp out for whatever reason. The more modular these figures are, in terms of accessories, the better.

I don't understand why you think Hasbro is in control of how many Joes Wal Mart orders. This is so ass backwards its almost funny.Magnuz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 6:09 amYa my store doesn't have joes on the mod anymore either and that could happen in alot of stores but no guarantee.

G.I. Joe Classified Series
Hasbro isn’t going to be able to go all in until movie success.
No MCU last year, no as much a problem. Stores need Legends product by the droves and Hasbro produced to keep their spots on the shelves. And to make money. People would miss Marvel product if they were not on the shelves.
If/when GI Joe has film success the store execs will decide to sell more and in turn Hasbro make in larger volume.
It’s frustrating to be nostalgic fans of this property for sure. Finally 6” scale Joes! Life changed the Brand’s epic relaunch.
Personally when it comes to Shipwreck I may prefer the long sleeve look more at this time. I agree that open shirt is a throwback look Hasbro may explore when they do other throwbacks. I’ll be quite disappointed if they don’t include a Polly. Any other gear is just gravy.
