Off topic and anecdotal, but I once had an apartment that was a tall skinny 3 story townhouse style. The only coax hookup was in the entrance / bottom level. We were just out of highschool, so we did the classy thing of just running a splitter at the entry point, then running a line across the living room and up the stairs, added another splitter into my bedroom, and then ran another cable up the stairs into his bedroom, haha!

We taped the cables down with painters tape somewhat, but it was super stupid looking. I'd like to think we made ole RedGreen proud. :D

I would hope that Wal-Mart has a finite number of codes to give out, whether you type the UPC into self-checkout or have the physical card. If that's the case once the codes run out the UPC should refuse to process. This is Wal-Mart of course, so I'm sure they have done nothing of the sort. But that's how it should be done.

So the guy who makes all these decisions at NECA is some sort of tech bro that doesn't know the toy community right? And Randy just grits his teeth and mutes Twitter?

Picked up a Renet at Walmart tonight. There were 2 Renets & maybe 3 each of Shredder & Foot Soldier. There was also 2 of the $100 Bob Ross lithographs.

I don't know if he's a "tech bro" or just someone who saw the NFT thing hit the way it did when it was 'in', and decided to try and get a piece of it. This whole thing took longer than the fad lasted, so now Randy's getting all the hate for crap he has no control over. Just like the Loot Crate garbage.

Did you pick up an actual physical figure or one of the cards/papers/whatever the heck it is?

One of the plastic card thingies. I haven't made an account to enter the activation code yet. That is something that will have to wait until later this weekend.

In my communications with AutoT, I was told my Renet would ship 15 days after I selected the option to "ship" via their site. 15 days was yesterday, and not a word from AutoT.

I had time to sit down & set up an AutoT account today. It was pretty simple. Just a minute or so of my time. Unfortunately I didn't not score a signature addition, which is fine because I plan on opening Renet anyways. I opted to have her shipped to me within 15 days. We'll see if they can actually hit that estimate. At the end of the day, I think this is a dumb concept and I wouldn't be heartbroken if it ultimately failed.

Yeah, so far it's a pretty "harmless" system...it just adds a bunch of needless inbetween shit. I don't see it lasting long, not with the negative feedback... BUT, whatever. We'll see. I'm still waiting on my figures as well.

I heard back from AutoT. Now it's 15 "business days," not 15 days. (Which I expected, but wanted that in writing.) But they also added a disclaimer that says "nah, we won't keep our promise."

"Hi,

Thank you for contacting us about this.

Your order has not shipped and tracking for your figure will be sent when it is shipped out. It can take up to 15 business days from when you indicate on the autotvault.com website that you want to ship your figure before it may ship.

Please note that due to the overwhelming amount of orders for these products there may be some short delays in your order shipping.

Thank you,

The Auto T CS Team"

So this means mine should ship this Thursday, the 27th. Not a bet I am willing to take.

Hopefully that doesn't mean the first production run of this item is ticketed for big box at the expense of online comic shops. Really don't want to have to wait until 2023 for some of these items, or have to hunt at Walmart, but I guess we'll see.

I’m hoping that after the lootcrate debacle and now how much complaints they’ve gotten with autot, that they will stop making these bonehead partnerships. How many times does something have to go sideways before you just sell the figures through normal means online and in stores?
