Wow, I didn’t realize 2017 marked Pokémon’s twentieth anniversary. Now it makes more sense why Tamashii Nations is releasing S.H. Figuarts for Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket!
I wasn’t into Pokémon as much as my kids were but with it making a comeback with Pokémon GO last year I’ve become a lot more aware of the property. Again. Everything is cyclic. But I’m a huge fan of SHF and you gotta admit, the figures look amazing. I may just have to grab these.
Ash and Pikachu
Ash comes with interchangeable faces and hands, along with a Poké Ball and hat.
It also looks like there is some kind of clear stand or clip to help Pikachu sit on Ash’s shoulder.
Team Rocket
Both Jesse and James have extra hands, notably James with his rose.
Even more awesome, all three figures, Meowth included, come with their “blasting off again” faces.
Ash and Pikachu should cost about $40 while Team Rocket has a MSRP of around $90. Both sets will release in July and pre-orders should go up soon, if not March 1.
