Continuing our run down of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, we take on the Yellow Ranger from Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts line! While the Red Ranger was an older figure and the Blue Ranger was more recent, this Yellow Ranger is pretty spanking new and kind of interesting.
Most people will remember that Thuy Trang played the Yellow Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. She wore the yellow outfit without a skirt like the Pink Ranger did. In Japan’s Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, the Yellow Ranger is played by male actor Takumi Hashimoto. A minor difference in the series, but a huge difference in the action figures!
There are two Yellow Ranger action figures: one that pays tribute to Boi in Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger and the other that pays tribute to Thuy. Boi’s is a standard male Figuarts figure in yellow, while Thuy shares the female body from the Pink Ranger. This was a really cool thing for Bandai to do and pay attention to as female action figures aren’t always given their due! The main difference is a wedge, or some female bumps, where the boobs are and some wider hips
The body is great, and ,like the male counterparts, is very standard, nothing boobtacular or slutty about the figure.
The articulation is standard for S.H. Figuarts and can do any pose under the sun. No joint issues with this Yellow Ranger — she’s ready to roll out of the box. Here is the breakdown:
