Kaiyodo Revoltech Star Wars at Wonder Festival 2014

Wonder Festival is going on right now and wouldn't you know it, more Star Wars, this time Revoltech style! C-3PO (with a mouse droid!) and R2-D2 are calling my name, but Darth Vader and Stormtrooper are right up there. Also, a teaser for Boba Fett and....ships?

Kaiyodo Revoltech Star Wars C3PO FeaturedHow many toy shows can run at the same time? Not enough, in my book. Gimme gimme. Anyway, Wonder Festival is going on right now overseas and wouldn’t you know it, more Star Wars, this time Revoltech style! C-3PO (with a mouse droid!) and R2-D2 are calling my name, but Darth Vader and Stormtrooper are right up there. Also, a teaser for Boba Fett and….ships? The Millennium Falcon and an X-wing? Those have to be minis or something. Right? My wallet scream “RIGHT??”

R2’s extra legs are interesting, not quite sure what’s going on with those yet. Extra hands abound, even 3PO, which makes me happy. Can’t wait to see these painted.

  1. From what I can decipher on the detail cards, it looks like Vader has a late 2014 release, but C3PO, R2, and the Stormtrooper all appear to be order-able around the middle of 2015.

  2. Thanks Joe. I actually am really attracted to that Vader, partially b/c the cape articulation is a new feature. After years of wanting 6″ Star Wars I’m almost annoyed I have like 4-5 options…..for all the same characters. I’d actually like seeing one import tackle traditional scale with their detail and articulation. Fett by Revoltech at that size would be wicked. As is I guess I’m going to order some ball joints from BBTS and try to do it myself. Has anyone done that?
BTW when is release? I might pass on MAFEX and go with this an possibly Figuarts as well.

  3. The description card for 3PO and the Stormtrooper mentions 160mm, which translates into 6.3 inches, roughly. Vader comes in at 170mm, which is around 6.7 inches. I’ve been jumping into the 6″ SW Black Series figures, lately, but will almost certainly look into picking up that Stormtrooper from Kaiyodo (at the least). That articulated Vader cape is somewhat…odd. But, considering how many swappable items tend to come with the Kaiyodo Revoltech figures, I can only think of the coolness possible with the SW releases. Vader alone could have more variant options than fans could know what to do with (unmasked Vader, Vader with Luke face from the Dagobah training, Vader’s chopped-off hand circuits from ROTJ, etc.)

  4. Me too. 4 inch or 6 inch? I know their old stuff was more 4 inch scale but they’ve gotten bigger. I’d like the smaller scale from them actually where Star Wars is concerned

  5. My inner child is screaming like a little bitch at all the Star Wars awesomeness coming out.
