The marathon continues, with Mattel weighing in for 2014. We’ve already given you the lowdown and some images for the DC Universe Classics/Club Infinite Earths “farewell gift”: An online-only Super Powers-themed wave coming to MattyCollector. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman repainted in Super Powers deco, along with gold Superman, Mr. Mxzyptlk, and Super Amigos Riddler, with the Collect-and-Connect Kalibak.
In other DC news, Firestorm joins the Total Heroes line and Zod debuts in the 4-inch line with unmasked Keaton Batman.
The news over in the Masters of the Universe world was the announcement of a new subscription! The Club Etheria subscription will be a Princess of Power-themed sub, celebrating the 30th anniversary of She-Ra and her rebellion against the Horde. Subscribers will receive six monthly figures, plus one club-exclusive figure for a total commitment of $180, all pulled from the world of She-Ra and the PoP. The first five figures in the sub will be $25.00 slots, while the final figure will be $30, shipping in December. Who could that be, I wonder? Perhaps Mermista so they can give her both the tail and legs? Sounds good to me! The first figures revealed for the PoP sub are Double Mischief (Double Trouble), Madam Razz and Broom, and Entrapta. Light Hope was also revealed as the sub-exclusive figure, and Sweet Bee’s helmet was also shown as a tease. There is really no possible way it could be for anyone else, so I would count on her being revealed as the October figure. The subscription window is from February 17 (tomorrow!) to March 10 at midnight.
Rio Blast was the only new Club Eternia figure shown, and he is pretty impressive. He has all his guns and flip-open compartments, so he is pretty involved. Oh, and that was obviously Eldor’s Book of Living Spells hiding out back there too. It is about time we got him, so July cannot come quick enough.
And now, enjoy some more of our pics from the MattyCollector event!
