ThreeA Toys – Iron Man Teaser

3A Iron Man2

A teaser image of the first offering in the much anticipated collaboration between ThreeA Toys and Marvel popped up on Facebook this morning and it definitely looks interesting.

What we’re seeing here is Ashley Wood’s take on Marvel’s Iron Man. It looks like it’s an unpainted prototype, and according to Mr. Wood, the figure will be “All articulated, no visible joints. It’s going to be cool.”

Word on the street is it’s in 1/6 scale and will be approximately 12-13 inches tall.

Check it out:

It’s definitely a unique take on the character, and I’m definitely intrigued as to how the articulation system is going to work. Hopefully we see a fully painted prototype at SDCC this summer.

What do you think? Did ThreeA knock it out of the park, or are they way off base with this one? Let us know by commenting below or by joining the discussion on the Fwoosh forums!

  1. “No visible joints” makes me nervous, because that could mean something great (neca prometheus engineer) or horrible (mattel swamp thing). Plus, Iron Man is one character who would not be hurt by visible joints.

  2. I’m intrigued by the articulation but that’s about it. I agree more Iron Giant. A swing and a miss for me.

  3. I guess the lack of paint doesn’t help, but this is more Iron Giant than Iron Man to me.
    I’ll pass.
