Hot Toys is a Hong Kong-based toy designer that makes incredible 1/6, or 12-inch, action figures. They are best known for their incredible likenesses to real people, bringing out uncanny, and sometimes eerie, sculpts of movie characters and actors. When Iron Man debuted in the movies, Hot Toys was able to get the 1/6 license for the toys.

Their Iron Man figures are amazing. While I don’t own any, I marvel at the workmanship of the figures I see online. They are simply art in the purest form. And their figures for Iron Man 3 are no different. For those not in the know, these are super-articulated figures, with over 30 points of articulation, some diecast parts, and they come with a bunch of extra parts for your displaying pleasure. In addition to the kick-ass armors, you get some incredible head sculpts — Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle look like the popped right off the screen and into your house.

For those of you with the money or interest, you can still pick up the older figures, but they come at a premium cost and are not for the tight-walleted collector. Head over to Amazon.com and you can still find some of the older toys for sale:

Otherwise, you’ll have to do your best on eBay and trade forums.

As always you can discuss this topic further on the Fwoosh forums.
