This toy is a 1/6, or 12”, scale figure. Its articulation consists of ball-jointed hips and a knee hinge. The figure is incredibly simple–a cube with legs. There is a bomb attached to the head, but not a real bomb–a plastic one. It doesn’t explode. The figure has the usual simple robot design one expects from Ashley Wood.
The magic of the figure comes from the face and, behind it, the concept. Squares are outfitted with childlike, innocent faces, and in the comic they speak with childlike voices all in an attempt to distract enemies. So much personality in that face. Overall, this is a fun figure for display. The face is unique and the concept of a robot with a childlike face having a bomb strapped to its head is definitely a conversation piece. And there is a rumor of a Square Bomb making an appearance in the portable (1/12 scale).
