1. Matty – if you could give us one word or a small phrase to describe what to expect for the 2012 DCUC line-up, what would it be?
A new direction.
Danielle McLachlan (Fangirl 2.0) has now officially taken over for Scott Neitlich (Tyoguru) as brand manager for day to day of the DCUC brand (although she does report in to him so Scott is still somewhat involved in big picture stuff). Scott’s last wave was Wave 18, starting with 19 and beyond it is in Danielle’s hands! Scott has now moved over to GL movie and beyond (as well as keeping his hands in the MOTUC line which he refused to give up!)
2. We know that Batman has a new movie coming next year, but so does the Man of Steel – are we going to get some Legacy items that feature Superman too?
It is very possible there will be Superman comic figures leading into the film, but that will depend on when the release of the film is. At this point that is not locked in by our partners at WB.
3. Can you provide us with an update on the next round of DC/MOTU two-packs (Zodac/GL, She-Ra/SG) in terms of approximate street date? The last series originally hit in December of last year so it has been awhile.
The release date for ANY retail product is 100% dependent on sell through. The faster the current waves sells through, the faster the retailer (in this case TRU) will order new packs. So if you want to see new packs, support (and tell your friends) about the current ones!
4. Matty – we miss our Fourth World! It has been 18 months since the last New God graced a DCUC wave, are they coming back anytime soon? There is still much to do.
Just wait for SDCC! We have some surprises!
5. Push our luck here – you have already told us that a Master and a Galactic Protector are on tap for the fourth quarter, since we are close can you give us a preview of what faction the last fourth quarter slot will be from?
We will tell you it is a male figure that will include three heads. For more you will need to come to our SDCC panel at 1:00 on Friday the 22nd!
